Welborne News - May 15, 2017
School Council Spring Community Event:  Thanks to everyone who joined us for our first Spring Event.  The wet weather didn’t dampen our spirits!  Many thanks to our organizers, vendors and cake bakers.  Our next School Council event will be the June 15 barbecue.
Wear Orange on Wednesday!   Prader-Willi Syndrome is a complex genetic disorder due to a loss of function of specific genes.  Please support this syndrome as it is so rare!  Please see the July event on the dates below.  More information is on our foyer bulletin board.

Long Weekend Coming!  This Friday, May 19 is a PA Day.  Teachers will be working on assessment and reporting.  Monday, May 22 is Victoria Day so there will be no school for staff or students.  The next Welborne Newsletter will go home on Monday, May 29.
Moving this summer?   If your family is moving this summer, please let us know.  Unless we hear from you, we’ll assume that all students are returning.  If you move without informing us, that will leave gaps in our classes in September and may necessitate a re-organization.
Out of Area?  Forms will be going home soon with all students who currently live outside of the Welborne catchment area.  Although students are expected to go to school in the area where they live, we understand there are sometimes extenuating and special circumstances.  All students who are currently attending Welborne will be welcomed back in September 2017.
Kindergarten Registrations:   If your child will be 4 or 5 by the end of December, please register. You will need a birth certificate, health card and immunization record.  If you are missing one of the documents, please register anyway.  Our ‘Discover Kindergarten’ open house will take place on June 22 at 4:30.
Welborne Showcase:  The dress rehearsal will take place on Monday, June 5 during the day.  The show will take place Tuesday, June 6 afternoon as well as early evening.
Our next School Council meeting will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, May 16, from 6:15 – 7:30.  All are welcome and we hope to have child care available.

Allergies – Please do not send nuts, peanuts or peanut butter into the school.  Asthma – Students are now able to carry and administer (with parent permission) their own asthma medication (puffers).

Workshop for Parents/Guardians:  This Wednesday from 6:30 – 8:30, at Lancaster Public School, Nicole Corbett and Jacqueline Boehme will be facilitating a workshop on Anxiety and Children.  Please RSVP to LANCD_Council@limestone.on.ca.
