The stretch of mild weather has brought a welcome burst of energy, with students eager to soak up every bit of fresh air they can. As exciting as this early taste of spring feels, we’re asking families to remind their children to steer clear of the water and muddy areas on the yard. Staying dry helps keep everyone comfortable, safe, and ready to enjoy these last few days before the break as well as helping to keep the school clean.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at </span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">welba@limestone.on.ca</strong></b></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Warmly,</span><br><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Ms. Fraser, Mrs. Swan-Pressnell, and Ms. Hart</strong></b></p><div data-lexical-layout-container="true" style="grid-template-columns: 1fr 1fr 1fr; display: grid;"><div class="editor-layoutItem"><p class="editor-paragraph"><img src="/images/3acbbf6c-4b38-412d-b7fd-887a13e9711c" alt="Chess Club" width="100%" height="inherit" style="width:100%;height:inherit;display:inline-block"></p></div><div class="editor-layoutItem"><p class="editor-paragraph" style="text-align: center;"><img src="/images/d45c8ba0-b2b6-47e6-9469-3e05a1c1d42e" alt="paw prints" width="214" height="90" style="width:214px;height:90px;display:inline-block"></p><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr" style="text-align: center;"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">A few highlights for the week ahead</span></h2><ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Hot lunch - Tuesday, Wednesday &amp; Friday</strong></b></li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Tallack's Karate Kids on Wednesday</strong></b></li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Spirit Week</strong></b></li></ul><hr></div><div class="editor-layoutItem"><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><br></p></div></div><hr><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Spirit Week Details</span></h2><img src="/images/fd553cb8-717c-4cd0-9e55-a608a5fe99eb" alt="Picture1" width="100%" height="inherit" style="width:100%;height:inherit;display:inline-block"></p><hr><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr"><img src="/images/9e6cef0d-bf13-4bf1-bf50-0546fa6e57cc" alt="Ramadan" width="271" height="135" style="width:271px;height:135px;display:inline-block;float:left"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Ramadan Mubarak</span></h2><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Ramadan is the&nbsp;ninth and holiest month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a time of lasting (sawm), prayer, reflection, and community. The Charity BINGO raises a lot of funds for the school and is the primary source of funds that support the many . If you are able to volunteer for two hours occasionally at the BINGO hall on Bath Road, we would welcome your help! There is on-line training that needs to be done before your first shift. During your first shift, you would work with two experienced volunteers who will show you the ropes. Volunteers walk around the area where BINGO is being played, greeting the guests, being friendly and clearing food trays as needed. The tasks are very simple and the time commitment is only two hours on the days that you sign-up. Limestone DSB Schools to Participate in Kingston Community Climate Action Fund FoodCycler Project

<p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Limestone District School Board schools will participate in this year’s Kingston Community Climate Action Fund (KCCAF) initiative, supported by the City of Kingston and led by Sustainable Kingston. The project aims to turn everyday school lunch waste into meaningful climate action by introducing FoodCyclers in five to seven local elementary schools, with the long-term goal of securing a unit for each elementary school across the City of Kingston. These units will complement existing food-based programming and serve as an additional hands-on learning tool for students.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The initiative will help divert organic waste from student snacks and lunches away from landfill.
