Her mastery of teaching reading, her unwavering support for students with special education needs, and her steady leadership as an administrator have shaped countless school days — and countless young lives.From welcoming new families to cheering on student successes, Ms. Swan has touched our community with kindness, encouragement, and heart. This method allows us to best track student attendance to ensure safety. For any school day in the school term up to the cut-off time on the day of the absence. Future absences can be reported at any time using any one of these methods. Please do not call the school directly to report your student's absence.<h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr" style="text-align: start;">Reporting late arrivals</h2>Parents/caregivers are instructed to report late arrivals using the new Late Arrival option, including the expected arrival time to school. When a student arrives, they are expected to sign in at office and staff make the amendment in our student information system. When a student leaves early, again they are expected to sign out (with parental permission) and again the amendment is made in our system. This method allows us to best track student attendance to ensure safety. The SafeArrival system makes it easier for you to report your student’s absence, reduces the time it takes for our school staff to verify student attendance, and responds to unexpected or unplanned student absences. This time savings makes it faster and more efficient to account for all students and their safety.<hr><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;">Grade 7 and Grade 8 Lunch Privileges</h2>Historically, the students in grades 7 and 8 have the opportunity to get parent permission to leave the school property during recess/eating break on designated days. Whether your child is away due to illness, a family commitment, or participating in a school activity such as a sports tournament, it’s important that their absence is recorded. For students attending school-sponsored events, coaches or supervising teachers will update attendance records so these absences do not count against them. However, we still ask families to report these absences through School Messenger to help us maintain accurate records and confirm each student’s whereabouts. Your cooperation supports a safe and organized school environment.To report an absence, use one the following methods:<h3 class="editor-heading-h3" dir="ltr" style="text-align: start;">School Messenger application</h3><ol class="editor-list-ol"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem" dir="ltr">Use the email address you provided to the school.</li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem" dir="ltr">Use your mobile device to download and install the free SchoolMessenger blue app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, the <a href="https://go.schoolmessenger.com/#/home" target="_blank" title="SchoolMessenger website" class="editor-link" dir="ltr">SchoolMessenger website portal</a>, or from within the LDSB mobile app.</li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem" dir="ltr" style="text-align: start;">Tap Sign Up to create your account. For any school day in the school term up to the cut-off time on the day of the absence. Future absences can be reported at any time using any one of these methods. Please do not call the school directly to report your student's absence.<h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr" style="text-align: start;">Reporting late arrivals</h2>Parents/caregivers are instructed to report late arrivals using the new Late Arrival option, including the expected arrival time to school. When a student arrives, they are expected to sign in at office and staff make the amendment in our student information system. When a student leaves early, again they are expected to sign out (with parental permission) and again the amendment is made in our system. This method allows us to best track student attendance to ensure safety. The SafeArrival system makes it easier for you to report your student’s absence, reduces the time it takes for our school staff to verify student attendance, and responds to unexpected or unplanned student absences. This time savings makes it faster and more efficient to account for all students and their safety.<hr><h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;">Grade 7 and Grade 8 Lunch Privileges</h2>Historically, the students in grades 7 and 8 have the opportunity to get parent permission to leave the school property during recess/eating break on designated days. Additional information and a permission form has been sent home to families of students in grade 7 and 8. About Our School

Welcome to Welborne Public School, a Kindergarten to Grade 8 school is located in the west end of Kingston. Our school serves the communities of Auden Park, Waterloo Village and Westpark. Welborne has a strong reputation for excellence in academics and sports. A highly involved School Council works with the staff to create a caring community that supports student achievement. Our school hosts a before and after school program by Frontenac County Child Care. As well, several community groups regularly use our facilities in the evenings.

<h2 class="editor-heading-h2">Technical Advisory Group (TAG) is Seeking Expression of Interest</h2>The Limestone District School Board is seeking expressions of interest from <a href="about:blank" class="editor-link">individuals</a><a href="#_msocom_1" class="editor-link">[EL1]</a>  interested in joining the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) in support of the ongoing Student Census 2025 project.The purpose of the Technical Advisory Group is to provide advice, perspectives, and recommendations related to the design of data collection methods, analysis, and the representation of results for LDSB’s Student Census. TAG plays a critical role in ensuring that multiple and diverse perspectives are applied to the interpretation of data, helping to minimize bias and strengthen the relevance and integrity of findings.We are seeking expressions of interest for the committee for the September 2026 to August 2028 term.  We welcome expressions of interest from all members of the Limestone community, including those who can help us fill the following vacancies:<ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem">One to two parents of a Limestone student(s) who is not an employee of the LDSB</li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem">A Limestone school administrator</li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem">One or more Limestone secondary students</li><li value="4" class="editor-listitem">One community partner member who works alongside LDSB</li></ul>Experience in data collection, analysis, and/or reporting of identity‑based data is encouraged; however, individuals with a broad range of research or analysis backgrounds and/or lived experiences are encouraged to apply.
